Activities at a Glance
Shrine and Prayer Hall
Our Ashrama has shrine where daily worship and vesper services are performed. The spacious prayer hall provides serene and calm atmosphere for meditation and prayer. A number of devotees visit the shrine daily and take part in prayer etc., besides the boys staying in the Hostel. Ramnam Sankirtan is conducted on Ekadasi days.
Weekly classes and lectures
Weekly classes and lectures on spiritual topics are conducted by the monks of the Order.
Vidyarthi Homa is performed every year welcoming the new boys. The boys take 5 vows of student career based on the values of life.
Celebrations of Birthdays
The Birthdays of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other spiritual personnel are celebrated every year.Ashrama maintains a Shrine where daily worship and vesper services are performed.
Welfare Activities Buttermilk Distribution
During the month of May every year, buttermilk is distributed to the wayfarers. On an average, 2000 people are served every day.
About 200 Children of our Nursery and Primary School, which caters to the underprivileged classes, are served with noon food on all the working days.
Ramakrishna Mission Boys' Hostel
The Science Centre
In commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and in line with his teachings, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, T.Nagar set up a Science Centre in November 2012 in knowledge partnership with Agastya International Foundation.
This Science Centre was formally inaugurated on 9th February 2013 by Dr. Mylswami Annadurai, Project Director (Chandrayan), ISRO Satellite Centre, Bangalore in the holy presence of Srimat Swami Srikarananadaji Maharaj, Assistant General Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math as a Chief Guest of the Function.

Get every evening a crowd of poor and low, lecture them about religion first, and then teach them through the magic lantern and other things, astronomy, geography etc. in the dialect of the people.” – Swami Vivekananda
Spoken English Course
Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School (Main)
There were 950 students on roll in the Academic year (2019-20). The library attached to the school has good number of valuable books. Every year, our students participate in various cultural, educational, sports etc. competitions and bring laurel to the school.
Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School (South)
Started in 1936, the School has classes now from 6th Standard to XII standard in English Medium having Tamil as the 2nd Language. In the Higher Secondary sections, it offers Arts and Science courses. Computer Science is also taught with a well-equipped Lab. A number of Merit Scholarships and prizes are given to the students. The library is attached to the school.
The endeavor of the school which has strength of about 500 students from VI to Class XII is to provide an all-round education based on the human values contained in our great heritage of our country to the students. Further it strives to inculcate good character and patriotism to enable them to be enlightened citizens of our great nation.
Ramakrishna Mission Matriculation Higher Secondary School
The School had its beginning with the starting of Ramakrishna Mission English Medium School in 1977 at No.6 Maharajapuram Santhanam Salai (Griffith Road), T. Nagar for students from LKG to V Standard under the aegis of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama. In order to cater to the demands of the parents of this locality and to provide continuity of education to the pupils of the English Medium School, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama had upgraded it into a Matriculation School from the academic year 1998-1999, and to Higher Secondary School in the academic year 2006-2007.
